Healer Help in the Middle of a Concert

BERLIN (VG)  In the middle of a concert Morten Harket took a break.  He sat beside the mixing board and put himself under  what resembled a vibrating laying on of hands.  A real «Take On Me» kind of experience.

ECSTASY:  The tour in Germany has been a bigger success for Morten Harket and a-ha than anyone had thought it would be.  Now the concerts are going to be taped.

Everything happened in the shelter of the concert's large speakers, and the event was over in the space of a couple of minutes.  A middle-aged man performed the treatment.

This is the latest news on the health front of a-ha.  After their own gushing revelations about Magne Furuholmen's colon cleansing which led to (a band member's) being sick on stage in Warsaw, rumors have flown about Morten Harket's supposed healer.

Vibrating Powerfully

"Do you have your own healer, Harket?"

"What is 'healing'?" Harket asks, smiling away the question.

He mumbles something about massage, and that everyone on the tour has different assignments to help ensure that everyone is able to perform at their absolute best.

"Healing is such a diffuse concept.  It's bound up in so many strange ideas that it isn't something I can easily talk about," he says.

VG's reporter was standing close to the stage and saw what happened.  Several of the fans standing closest to the front in Berlin also noticed the man who put one hand on Harket's upper back and lower neck and another hand on his upper chest.

After a few moments the man's hands and arms vibrated powerfully.

Then the singer sprang up onto the stage again and sang to cheers from the audience.  The man who supposedly massaged him is Jan Jacobsen, and he's a part of the tour team.  He also runs the Grünerløkka health center, and is supposedly an experienced healer.

During the concert he stood the whole time close to the stage, keeping time to the music - always within possible eye contact with the singer.

But we aren't told any more about what he is he did to Harket.

"No, you have to talk about that with Morten," Jacobsen told VG.

Many Rumors

"I don't actually kick up much of a fuss," says the singer himself.

"Pedicures, manicures, colon cleansings and tanning beds.  That's not me - no.  But I can definitely confirm that I've seen it going on.  Magne really believes in those things," he says.

"We're joking around a little.  It has to do with being a bit loose," he says. 

"But a lot of people are talking about your healer, aren't they?"

"There are so many rumors about me, you know," says the a-ha star and adds that he prefers to eat fresh (cooked) meat after the concerts.  That way he sleeps well and feels better.
