COMPASS POINT A/S & SWERVE A/S
|
For
a long time, Morten has got partnership with his childhood friend, Erik Henriksen.
Indeed, they used to play together in Heggedal, Asker. Today, Erik Henriksen
lives in Monaco and has become a very powerful business man in
Finances, a multi-millionnaire man in banking, but also in
shipping and offshore. As a consequance, Erik has advised Morten
many times in the past on his projects, in particular on
Morten's Production companies, Compass Point and Swerve. But
Morten needed a Financial manager so he got partnership with Atle Kingen,
a Norwegian industrial manager. But Sverre Lars Flatby, another
Norwegian Financial business man and old friend of Morten has
been managing all the personal projects of Morten for several
years now.
Swerve A/S has three main
sources of income. One is publishing, which incorporates the
copyright of the songs, among other things. The second is the
artist Morten Harket himself, and the last thing is using the
name Morten Harket as a brand name. Obviously, Morten has got many projects for Swerve in Music
industry among other things. For example, He wishes he could
gain more
control over the chain of money. Today, an artist will be left
with only 15% of the price of a CD in the record-store. That is
the same as 12 kroner per CD.
Swerve A/S also gets interest in
downloaded music on the web and mp3. Morten isn't against that
process to the contrary of many record companies and other
artists. Harket claims that the activity should not be regarded
as illegal, but rather as a market tool.
Morten had also opened his official websie during his solo
carrier but closed it since a-ha comeback. The site is currently
out of order but still exists.
www.mortenharket.com.
Harket also has other projects, outside the music industry.
Morten has got other unknown skills such as knifes and boats
designs.
In
the end, Harket has endless ressources ...who knows what's next

FAST
SEARCH & TRANSFER COMPANY |
Harket also got investment on the Stock Exchange for about 1 or
2 millions krones. Indeed, in 1997, he bought shares in OPTICOM
company and more precisely Fast Search & Transfer Company (FAST),
Norwegian computer-company. When FAST was extracted out of
Opticom, he was stuck with 3.400 FAST-shares. He sold the shares,
however, for 100 kroner per share, when a conflict arose between
TONO and FAST. When FAST was extracted from Opticom in the
spring of 1998, the share had an estimated value of 4 kroner.
FAST has its own search engine for music on the internet.
So Harket gained a lot of money in very little time. Besides,
unless Morten decided to sell all his shares, he kept a closed
eye on FAST development. Indeed, at the beginning of 2000, LYCOS,
one of the biggest search domain on the web, has been interested
in getting FAST as a partnership by creating a new search domain
specialized in Multimedia and music on the web with
www.alltheweb.com. Since then,
FAST keeps on increasing with WAP technology on mobile phones
for instance.
