New a-ha album being recorded
It's now official, the
new a-ha album is being recorded at the moment and
will be hopefully mixed for Chrismas or at the
beginning of 2009. No release date has been decided
yet but Harket is about to fly to New York with his
mates, Paul and Magne to record the last part of the
album at the end of September or beginning of
October.
Letter from Egypt
sales, Morten Harket's last solo album end up to 30
000 copies in Norway. Hopes for an international
promotion and tour are now low.
"There are plans for
touring in many parts of the world next year",
confirms Harald Wiik, who doesn't want to enter into
any discussion about whether the record company has
done a bad job with Morten Harket's solo album.
"Morten has this luxury problem that he is a
member of a-ha, and a-ha gets the priority. When
a-ha are now well underway with their new album, the
possibilites for promoting the solo project
naturally get limited", Wiik says.

Big success for Harket
In front of a young
and enthusiastic audience in Stavanger, on Vagen
harbour, Harket performed one more solo concert on
Friday night with his band.

Morten devoted to culture and
peace in September
From September 10 - 12,
the
Point of Peace Summit will take place in Stavanger,
Norway. Morten will be participating in "Open
Port - Songs Across Walls of Separation", which is the
closing event of the Summit.
Morten will be performing western interpretations of music
from such varied places as Morocco, Mexico and Palestine.
According to the Point of Peace website, "[t]hemes for the
performance are separation, love, longing for someone or
something on the other side of a wall". Along with other
famous actors and singers, the performance will feature a
large children's choir, a youth choir and a youth symphony
orchestra.
After the "Songs Across Walls of Separation"
performance, Morten will do a solo concert with his band.

On September 20, the Australian
author Gregory David Roberts will be presenting his
autobiographical novel "Shantaram", which is being
published in Norway by Håkon Harket's publishing company
Press.
And Morten has been so inspired by the book that he will
perform a song dedicated to Roberts.
This is part of the book festival which is held at the new
opera in Oslo.

Showcase in Germany
Morten
has performed these last 2 days, 2 private showcases in Munich at the
Atomic Café and at radio FFH in Frankfurt. Some lucky fans have
won a few tickets to see Morten live in solo for the first time since
12 years without a-ha.
An international solo tour should be followed this Fall.

New album "Letter from Egypt"
 After
12 years, Morten Harket new album, "Letter from Egypt"
is now ready to be released in Norway and Europe. 2
singles have already reached the charts, Movies
and Darkspace.
Letter from Egypt has been played for the
very first time live at the Nobel Peace Prize in last
December in Oslo and Morten recently played Darkspace
live also on NRK for a TV show in Norway.
The album is
expected at the end of May in Norway and Europe.
Morten will play his songs live for the first time on
stage at the end of May with Magne F and Savoy at
Rockefeller hall in Oslo and Royal Albert Albert Hall in
London. A solo tour should be followed (planning to be
set).

29.03.2008: New Single "Darkspace"
 The new single "Darkspace"
will be released on Norwegian radio in few days.
Available in all major web stores on Monday April 7
and a little later in Germany and some other European
countries.
Morten spent a few days
with Medialux producers at the end of February to
mix the next single and to add some final musical
elements.
